Healthcare Benefits

Medical

Spacenet offers a choice of two Medical Plans through CIGNA 90-50 plan and 80/60 plan. Both health care options are available on the first day of employment and offer full coverage levels to include spouses and/or children.

Dental

Employees can choose a Preferred Dentist Program (PDP) with deductibles or a Co-pay program without deductibles, all though through MetLife. Preventive cleanings are covered at 100% in-network and basic care is covered at 80%.

Vision

Vision care is offered through the Vision Service Plan (VSP). Employee’s standard eye exams are covered every 12 months with a $10.00 co-pays. VSP offers one pair of glasses every 24 months with a $25.00 co-pay.

Insurance Benefits

Life Insurance

Spacenet offers company-paid Basic Life Insurance at two-times salary to a maximum of $500,000 for employees. Employees may elect up to an additional two-times salary up to $500,000 more. Additional coverage options available for employees, spouses, and children.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)

Spacenet offers company-paid AD&D benefit.  Additional coverage may be purchased in $10k increments up to $500,000 for the employee. Additional coverage options are available for spouses, and children.  Business Travel Insurance (BTI) is also provided to employees.

Disability Insurance

The company provides paid Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) with a 60% benefit.

Additional Benefits

401 (K)

The Spacenet 401 (K) plan, currently administered by T. Rowe Price, is a defined contribution plan designed to provide you with greater financial security at the time of your retirement, disability, termination of employment or death. The company matches dollar per dollar up to the first 3% you contribute; plus 50% of the next 3% you contribute. You become 100% vested in the value of the company matching contributions after three years of eligible service. Spacenet offers 19 investment options from which to choose.

Aflac Plans

Aflac offers additional coverage in case of accident or illness, to assure Hospital Protection, Personal Accident Indemnity, Personal Cancer Treatment, Plan, Personal Disability Income Protector, and Specified Health Event Protection.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Our Flexible Spending Accounts or FSA allow employees to set aside money to pay for certain health and dependent daycare expenses before taxes are taken out from their pay. By utilizing our FSA, employees save pretax dollars for their use of medical or dental deductibles, copays as well as expenses related to dependent care.

Employee Assistance Program

Spacenet offers confidential service that provides support to individuals and their families relating to counseling , mental health and substance abuse treatments. Other services include tax consultations and financial planning

Group Legal Plan

Our group Legal Plan covers you and your dependents family members with: Wills, Home Purchases, Business, Leases, Bills & Debt, Health/Medical Care Issues, Traffic Tickets, Child Support, Divorce, Credit Issues, Disputes, and Much More. Employees may elect this plan at the time of hire.

Pet Insurance

Veterinary Pet Insurance policies cover medical problems and conditions related to accidents and illnesses (including cancer) for pets. We offer a 5% group discount for 1 pet, 10% group discount for 2-3 pets.

MET Pay

A personal property insurance program is offered through MetLife that allows you to apply to obtain smarter, more complete auto, home and other types of personal property insurance at special group rates.

Paid Time Off & Holidays

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Spacenet, Inc. provides Paid Time Off (PTO), an accrued, flexible time-off program, which may be used for any reason: vacation, sickness, family illness, or any personal matter. Employees with up to 2 years service, accrue 18 days per year. Employees with 3-4 years of service, accrue 23 days per year. Those with 5-12 years of service, accrue 24+ and 13+ years of service, accrue 32 days per year.

Each year the company offers 8 Company-paid holidays include major holidays.

Bereavement Leave

It is Spacenet’s practice to grants leave to those employees who face the loss of an immediate family member and require time off from work.

Military Leave

It is the practice of Spacenet to grant time to support leaves of absence to employees who perform military reserve duty, National Guard training, and who perform emergency fire and medical services during a national emergency declared by the President or Congress.

Jury Duty

It is Spacenet’s practice to support requests for leave to perform employee’s civic duty by serving as a juror.

Training & Development

Educational Assistance

This practice is intended to assist regular full-time employees with professional development opportunities in their current positions or possible future positions within Spacenet. Spacenet recognizes the importance of continuing education by offering reimbursement for courses of study that support both current business goals and broader future strategies of the Company while meeting the individual aspirations of employees.

Employees who are attending an accredited college or university, and taking classes relative to their current position are eligible for reimbursement of the cost of tuition, books, and fees. Payment is a percentage based upon grades received, with an annual cap of $4,000 for undergraduate courses, and $7,000 for graduate studies. New employees are immediately eligible for Educational Assistance for classes which begin after their start date.

Community Involvement

Spacenet understands the importance of giving back to the community and strives to provide opportunities for our employees to support those in need.
